Welcome to the American Bird Dog Federation

The American Bird Dog Federation (ABDF) was founded in 2024 by Stacey Hall and Jason Hanley. Stacey was one of the founding members of the UFTA. He has competed in several different field trial formats since 1999. Jason started running dogs a couple of years ago. He has fallen in love with the competition and is excited to see what the future holds for ABDF. We started the American Bird Dog Federation to evolve the field trial format and create a competitive and fair environment to run your pointing dogs. What can I expect at an ABDF field trial event? ADBF trials are walking trials, no running or speed walking. Each competitor is given 15 minutes to run their brace. What sets the ABDF trials apart from other field trial organizations? We guarantee fresh birds, not dizzy birds that won’t fly. We remove safety birds from the field so that everyone has the same number of birds to hunt. We also offer a 50% payback at every trial.
