Host a Trial
If you are interested in holding your own ABDF event there are a few things that you need to know.
You may contact Stacey Hall or Jason Hanley to get set up as a club with the organization. They will assist you with any questions that you may have about the trial or our organization.
All fields are to be 7 - 12 acres in size.
All participants must be ABDF members and sign the ABDF waiver and release, this includes judges and bird planters. Youth members must have the ABDF waivers signed by their parents to participate in the trial.
Trials must be reported to the ABDF National Office within 21 days before the event to be sanctioned as an official event.
All clubs or hosts must submit a $15.00 sanctioning fee per dog per trial along with a completed hard copy of the trial results on the official ABDF forms to the ABDF National Office. Forms required: The trial recap sheet for each division of the trial held. List all member’s first and last names along with the dog’s name. New members must fill out the membership form along with a signed Waiver and Release and the membership fee sent in with the sanctioning fees. The Waiver and Release form has a date at the bottom and a new release form with current dates is required annually. The dog record form must be filled out and sent to the national office before the National Finals. Scores with the sanctioning fees must be remitted to the National Office of the ABDF within 14 days from the end of the field trial to get the scores validated. The following PDF Forms will provide you with all the necessary paperwork for hosting a trial. Some of these forms may be typed directly on the computer if you prefer, or if not can be printed for handwriting. If you would like to save a copy to your computer, once the page loads, select the save icon (floppy disk) in the upper left-hand corner and you can save it to your computer. To type directly on the form and save it to your computer you must save the form to your computer, then after you complete it go to the File menu, then select Save as. You can then rename the form whatever you choose to save the text you have entered.
Please use the new Waiver and Release form which is updated each year. The Waiver and Release are required by our insurance provider and have a new date each year.
